2 <br /> OCTS staff worked with local town staff to ensure the TMP is focused on the unincorporated <br /> portions of the County. The OCTS Director presented the Plan on July 10, 2024 and August 19, <br /> 2024 to the Orange Unified Transportation (OUTBoard) and collected feedback. All feedback has <br /> been incorporated into the Plan. Transportation Advisory Services (TAS) and the OUTBoard <br /> recommend the County's TMP be approved by the Board of County Commissioners. <br /> TAS Action: <br /> October 17, 2024 — Unanimous approval recommendation <br /> OUTBoard Action: <br /> October 21, 2024 — Unanimous approval recommendation <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact at this time. Projects identified in the TMP are <br /> pursued through variety of financial resources including and not limited to: U.S. Department of <br /> Transportation, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Metropolitan and Rural Planning <br /> Organizations resources and the 2022 County Transit Plan Update. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 4: MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Increase community awareness of all modes of transportation including <br /> transit, bike and pedestrian, vehicle, and all other modes. <br /> OBJECTIVE 3. Support road projects that address congestion and reduce commute time <br /> using the County' s Complete Streets policy. <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Coordinate transit investments with municipal and county land use <br /> planning to reduce vehicle miles travelled and to provide more equitable access to <br /> shopping, employment, medical centers, college campuses, etc. <br /> OBJECTIVE 5. Invest in implementing the County' s Safe Routes to Schools plan. <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Update transportation related plans to provide more multi- modal options <br /> including rural Orange County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends Board approve the Orange County TMP <br /> (Attachment 3). <br />
