A planning group—the Orange <br /> County 250 Committee— has been meeting regularly to plan a series of celebration activities for <br /> the year, outlined in the attached "Our Town" article from the Chapel Hill News. <br /> In May, the Board encouraged the planning group to seek corporate contributions to help <br /> support anniversary activities. Central Carolina Bank was approached and has agreed to be <br /> the major corporate sponsor for the celebration, providing $10,000 over a two-year period. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Central Carolina Bank's contribution will be a $5,000 gift this year and <br /> another$5,000 gift in calendar year 2003. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board publicly acknowledge the <br /> contribution from Central Carolina Bank. <br />
