MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> August 28,2024 <br /> • Ms. Stewart shared that much of July and August was focused on working on the <br /> Thriving Hearts project, and the planning phase is nearly complete. Ms. Stewart thanked <br /> Dr. Stuebe and the UNC Team for all their work in finalizing the main contract. <br /> • The FDA approved the updated COVID vaccine on August 22"d. The Health Department <br /> is no longer permitted to administer the 2023 vaccine but has not yet received the <br /> updated formula. Ms. Stewart encouraged everyone to get their updated COVID booster. <br /> Dr. Royce clarified that the Health Department cannot administer COVID vaccines until <br /> they receive the new formula, which Ms. Stewart confirmed. <br /> • OCHD vacancy rate is 5%, with 6.5 vacant full-time equivalencies. Environmental Health <br /> and Dental are both fully staffed, though Community Health Services has two vacant <br /> positions, Finance and Administrative Services has one vacant position, and Personal <br /> Health Services has four vacant positions. <br /> • Ms. Stewart reminded the board of the Outside Agency Applications process and let <br /> them know that there may be some changes to the process forthcoming, which she will <br /> keep the board informed about. <br /> X.
