o. Budget Amendment #12 <br />The Board will consider approving budget ordinance and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year <br />2003-2004. <br />6. Resolutions or Proclamations (8:15-8:45} <br />a. Recognition of Orange County Courthouse Mural Project <br />The Board will consider a resolution to officially recognize the work involved to commission, create and <br />display the six mural panels representing 250 years of Orange County history, now on display in the Orange <br />County District Courtroom and authorize the Chair to sign. <br />b. Older Americans Month and Senior Center t~'eek <br />The Board will consider joining federal and state governments in designating the month of IVIay as Older <br />Americans Month, a time to honor older citizens for their contributions to society; and also to designate the <br />week of May 9 through May 15 as Senior Center ~~4'eek in Orange County to recognize local senior centers <br />as focal points for providing opportunities and services to older citizens of Orange County and authorize the <br />Chair to sign. <br />c. Hurricane Awareness «'eek Proclamation <br />The Board will consider designating the week of May 16 through May 22, 2004 as Hurricane Awareness <br />Week and encourage residents to learn more about severe weather preparedness; and authorize the Chair to <br />sign. <br />d. Resolution Re~ardin~ Erika C"ruz Romero's Petition for Asylum <br />The Board will consider a resolution to recognize and support Erika Cruz Romero's petition for asylum and <br />authorize the Chair to sign. <br />e. vranae ~:ounry~ i own oz niusaorouan uraan 1 ransition yrea 1 asK r orce <br />The Board j~~•ill consider approval of a resolution creating a Joint Orange CountylTown of Hillsborough <br />Urban Transition Area Task Force and appointing two County Commissioners and one Planning Board <br />member to serve on the Task Force. <br />Special Presentations (8:45-9:20} <br />a. Distinguished Budget Presentation A«~ard <br />The Board will recognize the staff of the Orange County Budget Office for earning the Government Finance <br />Officers' Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2003-04 fiscal year budget <br />document and present the GFOA plaque to them. <br />b. Proposed Orange County "Air Quality Response" <br />The Board will receive a presentation on a proposed "Air Quality Response", outlining a series of initiatives <br />underway and/or proposed to address current and upcoming air quality issues in the County. <br />c. Schools Adequate Public Facilities Ordvtance (SAPFO) -Technical Advisoi-~~ Committee Annual <br />Report <br />The Board will receive a preliminary report on the student membership and caacity of the Ornage County <br />Schools (OCS) and Chapel Hill-Cairboro City Schools (CHCCS) as of November 15, 2003, and on related <br />issues as outlined in the dreaft Annual Report of the SAPFO Technical Advisory Conunittee (SAPFOTAC) <br />and provide any appropriate direction to staff. <br />8. Public Hearings (9:20-9:40} <br />a.
