~~ <br />1-Iealth Care Technician <br />Tob llescription <br />Responsible to: Shelter Operations Manager <br />• Duties Include: <br />o Examines animals at intake and records health status and potential health <br />problems. Reviews health status of shelter animals daily and conducts final <br />health checks prior to adoption <br />o Obtains and implements veterinary advice on treatment of animals when needed <br />o Monitors disease management program and ensures compliance with standard <br />operating procedures <br />o Participates ur euthanasia program <br />o Participates in adoption counseling <br />o Monitors and orders all medical supplies <br />o Pets-For'-Life and Pets-For-Ever hotline <br />o Assists in other duties as assigned <br />Sltills and 1';xperience Requirements: <br />o Thorough knowledge of disease management/recognition and general animal care <br />o Knowledge and ability to perform laboratory tests i e, heartworm, feline <br />leukemia, fecals, etc <br />o Ability to keep accurate records <br />o High school graduate, some higher education preferred <br />
