Make a recommendation to the BOCC on the Statement of Consistency <br /> (Attachment 1)and the proposed ordinance(Attachment2)• <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NOR[]I(AR01 IN'.A <br /> 2 <br /> 3 Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked if there is an estimate on time-saved with these <br /> 4 amendments. <br /> 5 Cy Stober said time saved is mostly on staff's side. He said it should be clearer and easier <br /> 6 to enforce and approve. He said with the landscaping buffers currently required, there are several <br /> 7 instances where further interpretation is needed from the Director or Deputy Director. He said he <br /> 8 feels this is much clearer language so should also be easier for an applicant to draw up. He said <br /> 9 separately from this, Planning has a planting guide that promotes native plants and they have <br /> 10 received feedback that it provides a lot of clarity. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 A motion was made by Commissioner Fowler, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, to <br /> 13 open the public hearing. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 16 <br /> 17 PUBLIC COMMENTS: <br /> 18 There was no one signed up to speak. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 A motion was made by Commissioner Fowler, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, to <br /> 21 close the public hearing. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 24 <br /> 25 A motion was made by Vice-Chair Greene, seconded by Commissioner Richards, to <br /> 26 approve the Statement of Consistency (Attachment 1) and the ordinance (Attachment 2)with the <br /> 27 following changes: <br /> 28 • 6.8.5(A)(3), deletion of the letter"e" in the word "ore" <br /> 29 • 6.8.9(A)(1), "When considering Section 6.8.5(A)(6)and (7) and Section 6.8.9(C)(6) during <br /> 30 review of the landscape and tree preservation plan, the Planning Director may add <br /> 31 additional tree protection areas when determining the exact location of any tree protection <br /> 32 fencing." <br /> 33 <br /> 34 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 35 <br />
