Thirty-five people at the fair had dental
work performed and there was a great turnout.
Dr. Nickelson went on to comment on the state budget, saying that there have been no
proposed increases in Medicaid reimbursement rates for dental services, and no increases have
been made since 2008. This is of particular concern because North Carolina ranks in the bottom
third of all states for Medicaid reimbursement for children's dental services. She encouraged
people to reach out to their representatives to encourage them to increase Medicaid dental
service reimbursement rates.
S:\Managers Working Files\BOH\Agendas &Abstracts\2024 Agenda and Abstracts/
June Page 1
