2 <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Improve harm reduction, prevention, and support services for adults <br /> and children experiencing behavioral health issues, substance use disorder, and <br /> intellectual or developmental disability. <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Reduce impacts and barriers forjustice-involved children and adults <br /> through deflection, diversion, therapeutic interventions, and re-entry support, <br /> including housing. <br /> Animal Services <br /> 2. Animal Services is proposing to utilize $968 of donated funds to cover the cost of medical <br /> expenses and medical supplies. The donated funds are from Community Giving Fund. This <br /> budget amendment provides for the receipt of and use of these funds consistent with the <br /> intent of the donations. <br /> 3. Animal Services is proposing to utilize $200 of donated funds to cover the cost of <br /> advertising available animals for the Clear the Shelter event. The donated funds are from <br /> Community Giving Fund. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of and use of <br /> these funds consistent with the intent of the donations. <br /> 4. Animal Services holds donated funds for the Veterinary Assistance Program. At the end of <br /> FY 2023-24, there were $11,691 in unspent funds remaining that reverted to fund balance. <br /> It is proposed that the funds be drawn from fund balance to use in covering medical <br /> expenses and medical supplies in accordance with the donated funds for the Veterinary <br /> Assistance Program. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Invest in services and programs that improve health of life for the <br /> community. <br /> Library <br /> 5. Library Services has received a donation of $13,568 from Friends of the Orange County <br /> Library. This funding will be used to support the library story walk, collection materials, and <br /> ongoing inclusive programming supporting literacy in Orange County. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Invest in services and programs that improve the health and quality <br /> of life of the community. <br /> • GOAL 5: PUBLIC EDUCATION/LEARNING COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Improve school readiness and educational outcomes by providing <br /> access, training, tools, technology, and other resources needed to thrive. <br /> • GOAL 6: DIVERSE AND VIBRANT ECONOMY <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Provide family-oriented and inclusive programming or other cultural <br /> events for residents and visitors. <br />
