Revised Professional Services Christopher Sandt, County Engineer, <br /> Contract (over $90,000) — Lake 919-245-2583 <br /> Orange Intake Tower Cy Stober, Planning Director, 919-245- <br /> Rehabilitation-Replacement 2592 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve a revised professional engineering services contract in the amount of <br /> $288,000 with Schnabel Engineering South, P.C. for the Lake Orange Perimeter Survey project <br /> (hereafter the "Project"). <br /> BACKGROUND: A previous version of this contract was approved by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners (BOCC) on the Consent portion of the agenda at the June 18, 2024 Business <br /> meeting. Extensive background information for the proposed project is available in the June <br /> meeting materials: http://server3.co.orange.nc.us:8088/WebLink/0/doc/72913/Pagel.aspx. <br /> The Provider subsequently requested minor text revisions to the contract document, as <br /> incorporated into and highlighted within Attachment 1. The revisions requested by the Provider <br /> include minor text amendments, date adjustments, and the elimination/deletion of Section 2.b.vi. <br /> This section was eliminated/removed based on consultant feedback that they will provide one <br /> initial set of final plans and specifications for the project, per industry standards. Any re-design <br /> and/or additional design work that may be warranted after the solicitation of construction bids will <br /> be addressed via amendment(s) to the professional services contract, subject to budget <br /> availability and final review by the County Attorney. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The negotiated professional services agreement and any subsequently <br /> approved amendments to the agreement will not exceed the appropriated Project budget. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE ACTION <br /> OBJECTIVE 6.
