Mid Term <br /> o Hire Mobility Manager <br /> o Conduct Fare Study <br /> • Capital <br /> o Bus Stop Improvements <br /> o Rural Mobility Hubs <br /> o Walking Access to Transit <br /> The Orange Unified Transportation Board (OUTBoard) has actively participated throughout the <br /> planning process, providing feedback on the Existing Conditions Report (link) and discussing it at <br /> public meetings. Orange County Transportation Services requests the Transportation Advisory <br /> Services and OUTBoard recommend the County's SRTP be approved by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners at its October meeting. <br /> TAS Recommendation: <br /> [Placeholder] <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: No financial impact at this time. Projects identified in the SRTP are pursued <br /> through variety of financial resources including and not limited to: Federal Transit Administration <br /> grants, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Metropolitan and Rural Planning <br /> Organizations resources and the 2022 County Transit Plan Update. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN:This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 4: MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Identify priorities and resources necessary to implement the Orange County <br /> Transit Plan. <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Increase community awareness of all modes of transportation including <br /> transit, bike and pedestrian, vehicle, and all other modes. <br /> OBJECTIVE 4.Coordinate transit investments with municipal and county land use planning <br /> to reduce vehicle miles travelled and to provide more equitable access to shopping, <br /> employment, medical centers, college campuses, etc. <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Update transportation related plans to provide more multi- modal options <br /> including rural Orange County. <br /> ACTION: Recommend Board of County Commissioners approve Orange County SRTP. <br />
