The board unanimously recommends Denise Dickerson to fill the Town of Hillsborough position vacated this spring. Ms Dickerson is a resident of the Town of I-Iillsborough. "The criteria for this position are: • That the applicant selected be a resident of Orange County, that he/she show an active interest in the development and improvement of7ecreational opportunities and parks in Orange County. • That he/she possess experience or training in recreational activities • That he/she possess experience or training or demonstrated interest in parks • That the applicant selected be willing to conunit to active participation on the Council In addition, the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council is committed to increasing the diversity of Council members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of representation whenever possible. It is the feeling of the Council that Ms. Dickerson will provide valuable input as a member because: • She has extensive experience and interest in outreach to Latino residents of Orange County and she speaks Spanish fluently • She has expressed an interest in assisting with the deparhnent's work, specifically in environmental education and in the community theatre programs. • She will represent Orange County as a resident and property owner, • She is an active volunteer, and has worked in a leadership role in the organization of special events, • She has an interest in recreation and pazks as demonstrated in indicating this boazd as her first area afinteresY Thank you for your consideration of this nomination.
