Tryon St., Hillsborough, NC 27278 (919) 245-2660 <br />.June 29, 2005 <br />Moses Cazey, Chair <br />Oraz7ge County Boazd of Commissioners <br />P.O, Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Carey <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />The Orange County Recreation and Pazks Advisory Council has recently reviewed all applicants and <br />unanimously recommends Floyd Bridgewater to fill the at -large position vacated recently by the <br />expiration of Tony Britt's term <br />The criteria for this position aze: <br />• That the applicant selected be a resident of Orange County, that he/she show an active interest in <br />the development and improvement of recreational opportunities and pazks in Orange County, <br />• That he/she possess experience or training in recreational activities <br />• That be/she possess experience or training or demonstrated interest in parks <br />• That the applicant selected be willing to commit to active participation on the Council <br />hr addition, the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council is committed to increasing the diversity of <br />Council members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of representation whenever <br />possible. <br />It is the feeling of the Council that Mr. Bridgewater will provide valuab]e input as a member because: <br />• He has experience in the areas of surveying, engineering and forest resources, any of which may <br />prove useful in the work of the council as it relates to the pazk development process.. <br />• He has indicated that he is a Native American and the council is committed to increasing our <br />diversity as a body as well as in those whom we serve. <br />• He will represent Orange County as a resident and property owner. <br />• He is an active volunteer, and is recently retired. <br />• He has an interest in recreation and parks as demonstrated in applying for this boazd, <br />Thank you for your consideration of this nomination. <br />Sincerely, <br />.C'axi J a~t <br />G:\RPAC\Recommendation Letter- Floyd Bridgewater.doc <br />
