Mr. Allison meets the requirements for commission membership outlined by the Certified Local Government (CLG) program for preservation and/or related experience, and resides within Orange County's planning jurisdiction, HPC members and Historic Preservation staff have been in contact with Mr. Allison and he is interested in serving on the commission again, In addition to his understanding of the history of the HPG, their mission, and their work on previous projects, Mr, Allison will bring his considerable knowledge of local history to the commission. (Only one other applicant, Michelle Kempinski, meets the CLG membership requirements, Ms, Kempinski is currently serving on the Commission for the Environment and the Efland-Mebane Small Area Plan Taskforce, but would like to be considered at a later date,) Please convey this to the Board of County Commissioners for their consideration in August, Mr, Allison would fill the seat vacated by Rob Golan, who resigned in April.
