MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> April 15,2024 <br /> Crystal Mitchell presented on the recruitment plan to increase the number of foster parents <br /> available to Orange County DSS for children in custody. <br /> Foster Art Exhibition will be April 2611 in Carrboro. <br /> Foster Parent Appreciation will be held on May loth in the evening. The location will be determined. <br /> 4. Director's Report <br /> The two WIOA grants have been renewed for another year. <br /> There is a Job Fair scheduled for Wednesday, April 17th at Orange Works. There are currently 39 <br /> employers scheduled to attend the event. <br /> May 10th from 10a-2p is the Be Well Event in the parking lot at Social Services. <br /> Sally Green read the prevent child abuse month proclamation. <br /> April 27th is the community meeting on the use of Opiod Settlement Funds. <br /> There are two staff retirements to note. Amy Mitchell retired after 23 years of service to Orange <br /> County and Cathy Hill will retire in May after 25 years of service. <br /> VII. Announcements <br /> Chris Barnes moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:12 pm. Ann Wilkerson seconded the motion.
