MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> December 18,2023 <br /> Tina Clark presented an overview of child care subsidy and discussed funding and child care slots <br /> for four-year-olds. The County has a plan to do outreach to increase the numbers of children in high <br /> quality child care centers. <br /> 3. Orange County Community Child Protection Team Annual Report <br /> Brittany Mann presented the Community Child Protection Team's Annual Report. <br /> Ann Wilkerson made a motion to approve the report and forward to the Board of County <br /> Commissioners. Oscar Fleming seconded the motion. The motion was carried without dissent. <br /> 4. Holiday Programs <br /> Lindsey Shewmaker informed the Board that 1,175 families received toys through the Toy Chest. <br /> All families also received a $50 Food Lion gift card. Additional children and adults working with <br /> social workers were sponsored. <br /> 5. Director's Report <br /> There are 26 vacancies currently. <br /> There was a finding in the Single County Audit related to daysheets and Kronos. This will go to the <br /> Board of County Commissioners shortly but was not a material finding. There is no money involved. <br /> VII. Announcements <br /> Oscar Fleming moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:38 pm. Pat Garavaglia seconded the motion.
