MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> June 21,2022 <br /> expansion is still being discussed and the timing of that could impact people who might otherwise <br /> lose coverage. An estimated 6,869 Orange County people could become eligible under expansion. <br /> The REDA audit results have been published and Orange County passed all sections. There were <br /> three errors total and one had a payback of approximately $805. <br /> 4. Work Force Board Realignment <br /> Nancy Coston explained that the County needs to make a determination about which region best <br /> aligns. There have been a lot of conversations about which will be the best fit. <br /> 5. GARE Activities <br /> Nancy Coston presented updates on the work of the Government Alliance on Racial Equity. There <br /> is work on training, history and data and analytics. Sharron Hinton talked about some of the work on <br /> racial history of the County. Lindsey Shewmaker discussed the work with SAS and Carolina <br /> Demography on data. <br /> 6. TANF 200% Policy <br /> Sharron Hinton presented a proposed updated TANF 200% Policy. She responded to questions <br /> from the Board about how funds can be used. <br /> Jamezetta Bedford moved that the TANF 200% Policy be approved as proposed. Pat Garavaglia <br /> seconded the motion. The motion was approved without dissent. <br /> 7. Director's Report <br /> Orange Works is still closed while the landlord evaluates the chemical issues. Services are still <br /> being provided. <br /> The agency is still having problems with vacancies. <br /> There is a child welfare case with a placement issue that could become subject to one of the new <br /> laws. Staff will keep the Board informed. <br /> VII. Announcements <br /> Jane Garrett moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:09 pm. Ann Wilkerson seconded the motion.
