MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> Dcccinbcr 20,2021 <br /> THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES MET ON MONDAY: December 20, 2021 virtually <br /> BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES MEMBERS PRESENT: Pat Garavaglia, Jane Garrett, Oscar Fleming, and <br /> Jamezetta Bedford <br /> GUEST: None <br /> BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES MEMBERS ABSENT: None <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Nancy Coston, Director; Lindsey Shewmaker, Human Services Manager; Sharron Hinton, <br /> Human Services Manager; and Crystal Mitchell, Child Welfare Manager <br /> I. Call to Order and Introductions <br /> DSS Chair, Pat Garavaglia, called the meeting to order at 4:01 pm. <br /> II. Board Comments <br /> None. <br /> III. Public Comments <br /> None. <br /> IV. Agenda Changes <br /> None. <br /> V. Action Items <br /> On a motion by Oscar Fleming, the Board approved the minutes of November 2021. Jamezetta <br /> Bedford seconded the motion. The motion was carried without dissent. <br /> VI. Items for Discussion and/or Decision <br /> 1. Board Membership Changes <br /> Pat Garavaglia nominated Ann Wilkerson to the vacant DSS Board seat. Oscar Fleming seconded <br /> the motion. The motion was carried without dissent. <br /> Jamezetta Bedford was appointed to the other vacant seat by the Orange County Board of County <br /> Commissioners. <br /> 2. Holiday Program Recap <br /> Sharron Hinton gave the Board a recap of the 2021 holiday program. This year the program <br /> sponsored 337 individuals, 291 children and 46 adults. The agency received a total of$22,074 in <br /> monetary donations. <br /> The Toy Chest had 1006 registered households and another 140 walk-ins who received toys and <br /> gift cards. Over 3,000 gift cards for toys and gifts were distributed. <br /> 1 <br />
