MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br />December 18, 2023 <br />2 <br /> <br />Tina Clark presented an overview of child care subsidy and discussed funding and child care slots <br />for four-year-olds. The County has a plan to do outreach to increase the numbers of children in high <br />quality child care centers. <br /> <br />3. Orange County Community Child Protection Team Annual Report <br /> <br />Brittany Mann presented the Community Child Protection Team’s Annual Report. <br /> <br />Ann Wilkerson made a motion to approve the report and forward to the Board of County <br />Commissioners. Oscar Fleming seconded the motion. The motion was carried without dissent. <br /> <br />4. Holiday Programs <br /> <br />Lindsey Shewmaker informed the Board that 1,175 families received toys through the Toy Chest. <br />All families also received a $50 Food Lion gift card. Additional children and adults working with <br />social workers were sponsored. <br /> <br />5. Director’s Report <br /> <br />There are 26 vacancies currently. <br /> <br />There was a finding in the Single County Audit related to daysheets and Kronos. This will go to the <br />Board of County Commissioners shortly but was not a material finding. There is no money involved. <br /> <br /> <br />VII. Announcements <br /> <br />Oscar Fleming moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:38 pm. Pat Garavaglia seconded the motion.
