Attachment 1 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 DRAFT MINUTES <br /> 2 ORANGE COUNTY <br /> 3 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 4 BUDGET AND CAPITAL INVESTMENT PLAN PUBLIC HEARING <br /> 5 AND WORK SESSION <br /> 6 May 30, 2024 <br /> 7 7:00 p.m. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Budget and Capital Investment Plan <br /> 10 Public Hearing and Work Session on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern <br /> 11 Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, NC. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Jamezetta Bedford, Vice-Chair Sally Greene <br /> 14 and Commissioners Amy Fowler, Jean Hamilton, Earl McKee, Phyllis Portie-Ascott, and Anna <br /> 15 Richards <br /> 16 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> 17 COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> 18 COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> 19 Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Laura Jensen. (All other staff members will be identified <br /> 20 appropriately below) <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Chair Bedford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 1. Opening Remarks <br /> 25 Chair Bedford welcomed the public and read the public charge: <br /> 26 <br /> 27 The Board of Commissioners pledges its respect to all present. The Board asks those attending <br /> 28 this meeting to conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner toward each other, county <br /> 29 staff and the commissioners. At any time should a member of the Board or the public fail to <br /> 30 observe this charge, the Chair will take steps to restore order and decorum. Should it become <br /> 31 impossible to restore order and continue the meeting, the Chair will recess the meeting until such <br /> 32 time that a genuine commitment to this public charge is observed. The BOCC asks that all <br /> 33 electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers, and computers should please be turned off or set <br /> 34 to silent/vibrate. Please be kind to everyone. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 2.
