She said Carrboro's Recreation <br /> and Parks Department will go to the new facility and the Carrboro Police Department will take <br /> over the entire Century Center where the Cybrary is currently located. <br /> Commissioner Richards asked for a snippet of the vision of operations at the Southern <br /> Branch Library. <br /> Erin Sapienza said this will be a full-service library, with a full collection of 40,000 items, <br /> programming for youth and adults, digital literacy, meeting space for independent or group use. <br /> She said the Teen Center will be in the building so there will be space for teens to come in, hang <br /> out, and engage in library services. She said it will be open for 60 hours a week with the same <br /> service hours at both library locations. She said staff has ramped up outreach and have <br /> participated in events to get people signed up for library cards.
