I <br /> have served on committees with members of NCDOT to produce a Best Practices guide <br /> as well as serving on the state's Highway Safety Plan. I help put on an annual statewide <br /> Transportation Summit geared toward vulnerable road users. I chaired the Bicycle Safety Task Force in <br /> 2018. 1 attend most MPO meetings for our area. I am very well informed, quite familiar with <br /> Vision Zero, Complete Streets, and the Safe Systems approach to transportation, and I am very <br /> multimodal in my transportation choices, using buses, bikes, walking, driving, and trains to get <br /> around the state. <br /> Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board <br /> I think I can bring a safety, equity, and environmental eye to the discussions of road changes. <br /> How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints? <br /> My multimodal lifestyle will bring a lot of insight into how to move people, not just cars. I have <br /> traveled using public transit in a dozen countries, and have seen how it is possible to use bus <br /> travel and bike travel to also improve car travel. <br /> Do you have any personal or business interest(s) that could create a conflict of interest <br /> (either real or perceived) if you are appointed to this board? <br />
