2 <br /> County Planning staff has been tabling at area community events such as Efland-Cheeks <br /> Community Center Back to School, Festival Latino Americano in Carrboro, and others. This work <br /> will continue until early November and is to promote interest and collect input via surveys. <br /> Planning staff is also working directly with community organizations and leaders to host <br /> community meetings for reaching populations that have traditionally been underrepresented in <br /> Orange County land use planning. The Clarion team will be assisting Planning staff with the <br /> facilitation of meetings and Planning staff is partnering with meeting hosts to distribute invitations <br /> and encourage participation among respective communities. This is a different approach than <br /> that which was used during Community Engagement Window #1, which featured fewer meetings <br /> and less Planning staff involvement. <br /> Additional information is provided in Attachment A. A PowerPoint presentation will be provided <br /> at the meeting. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE ACTION <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Review County ordinances, policies, agreements, and the regulatory <br /> processes to streamline practices, and increase opportunities and reduce barriers to <br /> construct housing. <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Expand resources and invest in housing designed for our aging and <br /> disabled residents. <br /> OBJECTIVE 9. Increase representation of people with lived experience on housing related <br /> matters. <br /> • GOAL 4: MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> OBJECTIVE 1.
