ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF <br />RESOLUTION TO NAME THE NEW SOUTHERN ORANGE SENIOR CENTER <br />FOR ROBERT AND PEARL SEYMOUR <br />WHEREAS, Robert Seymour has been a guiding force in the inception, planning, and design of <br />the new senior center since the project first began almost 20 years ago; and <br />WHEREAS, leaders of both the Orange County Advisory Board on Aging and the Friends of <br />the Chapel Hill Senior Center recognize and acknowledge Reverend Seymour and <br />his wife Peazl for devoting years to serving the needs of seniors and volunteering <br />their skills and expertise for the people of Orange County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Friends of The Chapel Hill Senior Center voted <br />unanimously to request the name of the new senior facility located on Homestead <br />Road to be named the "Robert and Pearl Seymour Senior Center"; and <br />WHEREAS, members of the Orange County community strongly believe the Seymours are <br />deserving of this honor through their proven commitment and dedication to the <br />growing population of mature citizens; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Orange County Board of Commissioners do <br />hereby acknowledge the years of hard work and dedication provided to the senior <br />community of Orange County by the Seymours and do hereby name the new senior <br />facilities in southern Orange County the "Robert and Pear] Seymour Senior <br />Center". <br />This the 15°i day of November 2005. <br />Moses Carey, Jr., Chair <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
