5 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> PLANNING and INSPECTIONS <br /> Cy Stober,AICP,Director I cstober@orangecountync.gov 1131 W.Margaret Lane,Hillsborough,NC 27278 191.9.245.2575 <br /> Narrative <br /> Property owners Nathan and Jessica King hired Riley Surveying, PA, to survey the <br /> parcel's existing impervious cover and topography, including the ridge line between the <br /> two watersheds on their property. This professional survey work revealed a discrepancy <br /> with Orange County's mapped watershed boundary lines, which are based upon the <br /> State's delineation of water supply watershed boundaries. This Watershed Boundary <br /> Location Survey was subsequently recorded with the Orange County Register of Deeds <br /> on March 28, 2024 (PB127, PG87). As a matter of policy, the State advises delegated <br /> programs such as Orange County to notify the elected body of the watershed boundary <br /> change for formal recognition. <br /> Orange County Planning staff informed the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> (BOCC) of the watershed boundary change at their May 21, 2024 meeting. At that time, <br /> the Board approved an amendment to the Back Creek Protected Watershed Overlay <br /> District and Upper Eno Protected Watershed Overlay District boundary line and <br /> authorized the Planning Director to initiate a Zoning Atlas Amendment to amend the <br /> watershed overlay district boundary.
