~~ <br />Shelter Operations Manager <br />lob Description <br />Responsible to. Animal Services Manager <br />• Duties Include: <br />o Overall health care and general conditions of all sheltered animals <br />o Ensuring kennel and cattery procedures and policies are being followed <br />o Supervision of health examinations, spay/neuter program, and emergencies <br />o Overseeing Emergency Animal Rescue Service program (EARS) <br />o Supervision of all cleaning, feeding, and medication procedures <br />o Ensuring disease management protocols and procedures are being Followed <br />o Coordinating and participating in euthanasia program <br />o Overall operations management of the shelter including supervision of all general <br />fitnctions <br />o Ordering of supplies and general maintenance of the shelter <br />o Employee training and schedule <br />o Pet Smart and off site adoption programs <br />o Training of all adoption counselors and ensuring proper adoption protocols are <br />Followed <br />o Employee performance reviews and salary increase with input from appropriate <br />manager <br />o Reporting any complaints, problems, services or activities within the shelter and <br />any employee misconduct <br />o Hiring and termination of all shelter personnel with appropriate input <br />o Records and security of all controlled substances <br />Additional M:magerial Duties: <br />o Responsibility for operational knowledge and conformity to federal, state, and <br />local animal laws as well as to APS policies <br />o Management of shelter and staff on alternating days due to managerial schedules <br />o Response to emergency calls on weekends and animal control off-hours <br />o Alternating days with other managers for security lockup at the end of day <br />o Assists in other duties as assigned <br />• S({ills and'Cxperience Requirements: <br />o College Degree or four years equivalenC experience <br />o Mininmm of one year experience working directly with animal health care and <br />welfare <br />o Administrative and supervisory experience <br />o Strong background in records management and reporting procedures <br />o Understanding and implementation ofall APS policies and protocols <br />
