� E ORANGE COUNTY GOVERNMENT <br /> ORA�� TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br /> COUNoKrti CARQLLNA OrangeColufllty <br /> Title VI Non-Discrimination Policy Statement Sample <br /> TITLE VI NONDISCRIMINATION AGREEMENT <br /> BETWEEN <br /> THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br /> AND <br /> OCTS <br /> In accordance with DOT Order 1050_24,OCTS assures the North Carolina Departnern f Trdngmnatian(NCDCfo that no <br /> person shall; on the ground of race,odor,national origi ria sex,need,age,or disability; as provided by Title V of fine <br /> Civil Rights Act of 19fi4,the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 and related nondiscrimination author6es,be excluded from <br /> participation in,be denied the benefits of, or be othierwise subjected to discrimna ion or retaliation under any program or <br /> au ivityr undertaken by OCTS . <br /> =urfher,OCTS hereby agrees to: <br /> Designate a Tide VI Coordinator ihat has a responsible position within the organ¢atian and easy access to the <br /> Transportation Services Director cf the orgwaatKm. <br /> 2- Issue a policy statemern, signed by the Transportation Semites Diredor of the organition, which expresses a <br /> commitment to the nondiscrimination provisions of Title VI and related applicable sfiatut-.The signed policystaternent <br /> shall be posed and circulated throughout the Organization and to the general puhlic and published where appropriate <br /> in languages other than English. The policy statement will be re-s*ted when there is a change of Trampanation <br /> Services Director- <br /> 3- Insert the dauses of the contract language from Section 6.1 in every contract awarded by the organiza ion.Ensure that <br /> every contract awarded by the organizations contractors or consultants also includes the contract Iar guage_ <br /> 4_ Process all and,when required,investigate complaints cf disaiminat on consisten-wi-:h=re procedures contained within <br /> this Plan Lag all complaints for the administrative recad. <br /> 5_ Collect statistical data(race,color,national origin,sex,age,disability)on participants in,and beneficiaries of,programs <br /> and activities tarried out by the organization. <br /> 6- Participate in training offered on Title VI and other nondiscrimination requirement Conduct or request training far <br /> employees or the organizations subredpienm. <br /> 7.
