Orange County West Campus Office Building -HVAC <br />PDC Project 23020 BAS DIRECT DIGITAL CONTROL <br />SYSTEM 23 09 02 - 1 <br />SECTION 23 09 02 <br />BAS DIRECT DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEM <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 WORK INCLUDED: <br />A.Integrating equipment in the project scope into the existing Siemens Building Automation System <br />(BAS),incorporating direct digital control (DDC)for energy management,equipment monitoring <br />and control,and subsystems with open communications capabilities as herein specified. <br />B.Furnish all labor,materials,equipment and service necessary for a complete and operating <br />Building Automation System (BAS),utilizing Direct Digital Controls. <br />C.The system will integrate and communicate to the existing BMS server (by Siemens)flawlessly so <br />that all information and points can be viewed from the existing automation software and BMS <br />server.The Owner shall be able to log onto the existing automation server and navigate to the <br />controlled components being installed as part of this project.Information from other sites shall be <br />able to be transmitted and shared in its entirety. <br />D.The equipment installed under this project must be connected to the existing Siemens building <br />automation server. <br />E.The installation of the control system shall be performed under the direct supervision of the <br />controls manufacturer representative with the shop drawings,flow diagrams,bill of materials, <br />component designation or identification number and sequence of operation all bearing the name of <br />the manufacturer.The installing contractor shall certify in writing,that the shop drawings have <br />been prepared by the equipment manufacturer representative and that the equipment <br />manufacturer representative has supervised their installation.In addition,the equipment <br />manufacturer representative shall certify,in writing,that the shop drawings were prepared by their <br />company and that all temperature control equipment was installed under their direct supervision. <br />F.Provide system graphics for each controlled device and/or integrated systems as required by the <br />Owner.Origin of information shall be transparent to the operator and shall be controlled,displayed, <br />trended,etc.as if the points were hardwired to the BMS. <br />1.02 GENERAL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION <br />A.All materials and equipment used shall be standard components,regularly manufactured for this <br />and/or other systems and not custom designed especially for this project.All systems and <br />components shall have been thoroughly tested and proven in actual use for at least two years. <br />B.The system shall be scalable in nature and shall permit expansion of both capacity and <br />functionality through the addition of sensors,actuators,DDC Controllers,and operator devices. <br />C.System architectural design shall eliminate dependence upon any single device for alarm reporting <br />and control execution.Each DDC Controller shall operate independently by performing its own <br />specified control,alarm management,operator I/O,and data collection.The failure of any single <br />component or network connection shall not interrupt the execution of any control strategy, <br />reporting,alarming and trending function,or any function at any operator interface device. <br />D.DDC Controllers shall be able to access any data from,or send control commands and alarm <br />reports directly to,any other DDC Controller or combination of controllers on the network without <br />dependence upon a central or intermediate processing device.DDC Controllers shall also be able <br />to send alarm reports to multiple operator workstations without dependence upon a central or <br />intermediate processing device. <br />E.All DDC controllers shall be installed with 10%spare points (of each type)and 10%spare memory <br />capacity for connection of floor work. <br />1.03 APPROVED CONTROL SYSTEM CONTRACTORS AND MANUFACTURERS <br />A.The following are the approved Control System Contractors and Manufacturers: <br />1.Siemens Industry,Inc.,APOGEE System <br />1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 8DED1454-68D2-4E36-9FC6-E56FF2124E5D
