Orange County West Campus Office Building -HVAC <br />PDC Project 23020 HVAC Piping Insulation 23 07 19 - 4 <br />5.Cover inserts with jacket material matching adjacent pipe insulation.Install shields over <br />jacket,arranged to protect jacket from tear or puncture by hanger,support,and shield. <br />I.Inserts and Shields: <br />1.Shields: â€‹Galvanized steel​,20 gauge,one half the circumference of the insulation,and a <br />minimum of 12 inches long,between pipe hangers or pipe hanger rolls and inserts. <br />2.Insert location: Between support shield and piping and under the finish jacket. <br />3.Insert Configuration: Minimum 6 inches long,of same thickness and contour as adjoining <br />insulation;may be factory fabricated. <br />4.Insert Material: Hydrous calcium silicate insulation or other heavy density insulating material <br />suitable for the planned temperature range. <br />J.Continue insulation through walls,sleeves,pipe hangers,and other pipe penetrations. Finish at <br />supports,protrusions,and interruptions. At fire separations,see Section 07 84 00. <br />K.Pipe Exposed in Mechanical Equipment Rooms: Finish with PVC jacket color coded to piping <br />system.Refer to 23 05 53 for colors. <br />L.Pipe Exposed in Finished Spaces:Finish with canvas jacket sized for finish painting.Canvas shall <br />be coated twice with Foster fireproof lagging to ensure specified flame and smoke spread ratings. <br />M.For refrigerant line sets and condensate piping exposed to view serving wall mounted units, <br />provide lineset cover system.Speedichannel by DiversiTech,Hide-A-Line by DuctlessAire,or <br />equivalent by Inaba Denko. <br />N.Exterior Applications: Provide vapor barrier jacket. Insulate fittings,joints,and valves with <br />insulation of like material and thickness as adjoining pipe,and finish with glass mesh reinforced <br />vapor barrier cement.
