Orange County West Campus Office Building -HVAC <br />PDC Project 23020 Testing,Adjusting,and Balancing for <br />HVAC 23 05 93 - 3 <br />E.TAB Specialist shall be identified by the General Contractor within 60 days after the notice to <br />proceed.The TAB specialist will be coordinating,scheduling and reporting all TAB work and <br />related activities and will provide necessary information as required by the Resident Engineer.The <br />responsibilities would specifically include: <br />1.Shall directly supervise all TAB work. <br />2.Shall sign the TAB reports that bear the seal of the TAB standard.The reports shall be <br />accompanied by report forms and schematic drawings required by the TAB standard,AABC, <br />TABB or NEBB. <br />3.Would follow all TAB work through its satisfactory completion. <br />4.Shall provide final markings of settings of all HVAC adjustment devices. <br />5.Permanently mark location of duct test ports. <br />6.Shall document critical paths from the fan or pump.These critical paths are ones in which are <br />100%open from the fan or pump to the terminal device.This will show the least amount of <br />restriction is being imposed on the system by the TAB firm. <br />F.All TAB technicians performing actual TAB work shall be experienced and must have done <br />satisfactory work on a minimum of 3 projects comparable in size and complexity to this project. <br />Qualifications must be certified by the TAB agency in writing.The lead technician shall be certified <br />by AABC or NEBB <br />1.05 WARRANTY <br />A.National Project Performance Guarantee: Provide a guarantee AABC or NEBB will assist in <br />completing requirements of the Contract Documents if TAB firm fails to comply with the Contract <br />Documents. Guarantee includes the following provisions: <br />1.The certified TAB firm has tested and balanced systems according to the Contract <br />Documents. <br />2.Systems are balanced to optimum performance capabilities within design and installation <br />limits. <br />3.Warranty Period: Five (5)years. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 PLUGS <br />A.Provide plastic plugs to seal holes drilled in ductwork for test purposes. <br />2.02 INSULATION REPAIR MATERIAL <br />A.Refer to individual insulation sections for repair of insulation removed or damaged during TAB <br />work. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A.Perform total system balance in accordance with one of the following: <br />1.AABC (NSTSB),AABC National Standards for Total System Balance. <br />B.Begin work after completion of systems to be tested,adjusted,or balanced and complete work <br />prior to Substantial Completion of the project. <br />C.Where HVAC systems and/or components interface with life safety systems,including fire and <br />smoke detection,alarm,and control,coordinate scheduling and testing and inspection procedures <br />with the authorities having jurisdiction. <br />D.TAB Agency Qualifications: <br />1.Company specializing in the testing,adjusting,and balancing of systems specified in this <br />section. <br />2.Having minimum of three years documented experience. <br />3.Certified by one of the following: <br />a.AABC,Associated Air Balance Council: www.aabc.com/#sle;upon completion submit <br />AABC National Performance Guaranty. <br />b.NEBB,National Environmental Balancing Bureau: www.nebb.org/#sle. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 8DED1454-68D2-4E36-9FC6-E56FF2124E5D
