Orange County West Campus Office Building -HVAC <br />PDC Project 23020 Vibration and Seismic Controls for HVAC 23 05 48 - 3 <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A.Verify that field measurements are as shown on the drawings. <br />B.Verify that mounting surfaces are ready to receive vibration isolation and/or seismic control <br />components and associated attachments. <br />C.Verify that conditions are satisfactory for installation prior to starting work. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A.Install products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />B.Install anchors and fasteners in accordance with ICC Evaluation Services,LLC (ICC-ES) <br />evaluation report conditions of use where applicable. <br />C.Secure fasteners according to manufacturer's recommended torque settings. <br />D.Install flexible piping connections to provide sufficient slack for vibration isolation and/or seismic <br />relative displacements as indicated or as required. <br />E.Vibration Isolation Systems: <br />1.Isolator Hangers: <br />a.Use precompressed isolator hangers where required to facilitate installation and prevent <br />damage to equipment utility connection provisions. <br />b.Locate isolator hangers at top of hanger rods in accordance with manufacturer's <br />instructions. <br />2.Clean debris from beneath vibration-isolated equipment that could cause short-circuiting of <br />isolation. <br />3.Use elastomeric grommets for attachments where required to prevent short-circuiting of <br />isolation. <br />4.Adjust isolators to be free of isolation short circuits during normal operation. <br />5.Do not overtighten fasteners such that resilient material isolator pads are compressed beyond <br />manufacturer's maximum recommended deflection. <br />END OF SECTION 23 05 48 <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 8DED1454-68D2-4E36-9FC6-E56FF2124E5D
