Orange County West Campus Office Building -HVAC <br />PDC Project 23020 Work Restrictions 01 14 00 - 1 <br />SECTION 01 14 00 <br />WORK RESTRICTIONS <br />PART 1 –GENERAL <br />1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS: <br />A.Drawings,Notice to Bidders and Standard General Conditions of the Construction Contract, <br />including Supplementary General Conditions and Division-1 Specification sections,apply to work <br />of this section. <br />1.02 WORK SEQUENCE: <br />A.Work shall begin after NTP.Work shall not disrupt service to Owner’s facility. <br />1.03 WORK RESTRICTION: <br />A.Behavior policy:All construction personnel shall be respectful of all state employees and visitors of <br />the project site.Any incidents of disrespect,verbal abuse,threatening statements,unwelcome <br />comments,unwelcome interaction or any form of harassment from any construction personnel <br />toward any state employee or visitor is strictly prohibited.Any such act shall constitute sufficient <br />cause for NC State to remove any individual permanently from the project and property.In <br />addition,any of the contractor(s)project personnel who ignore or refuse to take action on any <br />requirements of the contract documents;ignore or refuse to take immediate action to correct any <br />endangerment to the health and safety of the public;as solely determined by NC State;then those <br />actions shall be sufficient cause for NC State to permanently remove those individuals from the <br />project and property.If in the sole determination of NC State,it would be in the best interest of the <br />project and NC State to have any of the contractor(s)personnel removed from the project then the <br />contractor shall do so upon request.Such actions taken shall not constitute grounds for a delay <br />claim.NC State will not be responsible for any delays caused to the project due to any individual <br />being removed from the project. <br />B.Use of the Premises:Parking is limited on site and will be coordinated during construction. <br />C.OSHA Compliance. <br />1.It is the intent of NC State that all projects be designed in such a manner that they can be <br />constructed and built in utilizing work practices in accordance with OSHA regulations.All <br />Contractors and Subcontractors shall meet all requirements specified in 29 CFR 1910 and <br />1926,along with the Association of General Contractors Accident Prevention Manual. <br />2.Contractors are referred to resources including,but not limited to,OSHA standards 1910 and <br />1926,and the Association of General Contractors Accident Prevention Manual.Also,each <br />project will have a designated safety manager. <br />3.The Contractor must designate,in writing,a safety manager for each project. <br />4.It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility to: <br />a.Provide a safe and healthful workplace free from recognized hazards to minimize the <br />likelihood of accident or injury to all personnel. <br />b.Comply with OSHA standards 1910 and 1926,and any other applicable environmental <br />health and safety regulations. <br />c.Comply with the requirements of the Association of General Contractors Accident <br />Prevention Manual. <br />d.Provide adequate work-area protection to protect the safety and well-being of faculty, <br />staff,and visitors. <br />e.Maintain an accurate list of chemicals used during construction,which must be made <br />available to campus or other requesting personnel. <br />f.Establish and maintain an effective safety and health program involving all levels of the <br />contracting organization,including managers,supervisors,and employees.A person <br /> designated as being responsible for safety must be present on site at all times work is in <br />progress. <br />1) Assure that a “competent person”as defined by OSHA is present during all <br />projects that involve trenching or use of scaffolding. <br />1.04 BUILDING ACCESS: <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 8DED1454-68D2-4E36-9FC6-E56FF2124E5D
