She said that the market has not really met the plan and now the review is more
about questioning if the nodes are still in an appropriate location.
Tom Altieri said there are 5 of these nodes in the county. He said there are four in the
northern portion and one in White Cross. He said that they area a half-mile radius around historic
areas in the community with access to transportation.
Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked what would replace them if they are eliminated.
Leigh Anne King said usually they revert to whatever is currently surrounding the node.
Cy Stober said it would likely rural and agricultural residential. He said that there are also
rural neighborhood activity nodes.
Tom Altieri said there are about 10 of them.
Cy Stober said that in these scenarios, they are pressing hard on levers to show different
scenarios. He said that they will likely end up somewhere in between but this is a demonstration
to prove a point. He said they are focused primarily on housing and jobs density and locations
they would be fated to be over the next 20 years.
Slide#36
Focus on creating conservation subdivisions that
could include a mix of housing types and possibly
neighborhood serving commercial areas
- Protect key ecologically valuable areas of site
- Will likely require municipal utility services or
community systems to serve development
Identify locations within County'sjurisdiction
proximate to municipalities and outside of WSW
critical areas
f - Potential testing of locations in Rural Buffer
