Attachment <br />Resolution Giving Notice to All Candidates For The <br />Register of Deeds and Sheriff Positions in Orange County <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners, as authorized by North Carolina General Statutes <br />153A-92, has set the starting salaries for the Sheriff and Register of Deeds positions as <br />provided below. This will affect the individuals elected to these offices when they take office, <br />All other compensation elements including expense allowances are as set forth in the Orange <br />County Personnel Ordinance, <br />The starting salary for the Sheriffs position will be the minimum of Salary Grade 31 of the <br />Orange County Classification and Pay Plan, The minimum of Salary Grade 31 is $73,947. <br />The starting salary for the Register of Deed's position will be the minimum of Salary Grade <br />29 of the Orange County Classification and Pay Plan, The minimum of Salary Grade 29 is <br />$66,992. <br />This Resolution will nat be altered or amended until after the persons elected Sheriff and <br />Register of Deeds in the 2006 election for those positions take office, Thereafter, the Board of <br />Commissioners may adjust the starting salary of the candidate elected considering the years of <br />service and performance in related experience of the person elected. <br />For further information contact: <br />Elaine Holmes <br />Orange County Personnel Director <br />208 South Cameron Street <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Telephone: (919) 245-2552 <br />
