35 <br /> 1 Chair Bedford said that Sue Ellsworth, Manager of PFPC, had an online class of how to <br /> 2 start a food business. <br /> 3 Mike Ortosky said he agreed and that the PFPC staff are providing a lot of information and <br /> 4 value to other incubators. He said that he is excited that extension is involved, because they can <br /> 5 provide a lot of value to the vendors. <br /> 6 Eric Hallman, Executive Director of PFPC, thanked Jonathon Smith for working with <br /> 7 PFPC. <br /> 8 Sue Ellsworth thanked the Board members who were able to visit PFPC. She said she is <br /> 9 excited about their work with Cooperative Extension. <br /> 10 James Watts, Chair of the PFPC Advisory Board, thanked the Board of Commissioners. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 3. Advisory Board on Aging —Appointments Discussion <br /> 13 The Board discussed appointments to the Advisory Board on Aging. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 BACKGROUND: The Advisory Board on Aging suggests policy and makes recommendations to <br /> 16 the Board of Commissioners and the Department on Aging while acting as the liaison between <br /> 17 older adults of the County and County government. Arts Commission —Appointment Discussion <br /> 31 The Board discussed an appointment to the Arts Commission. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 BACKGROUND: The Arts Commission recommends strategies to promote the artistic and <br /> 34 cultural growth of Orange County, advises the Board of Commissioners on matters involving the <br /> 35 arts, and acts as the granting panel for funding programs available to individual artists and non- <br /> 36 profit groups sponsoring arts projects in Orange County. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 The Board of County Commissioners appoints all fifteen (15) At-Large members. <br /> 39 <br />
