Orange County Board of Adjustment -Appointments Discussion <br /> 11 The Board discussed appointments to the Orange County Board of Adjustment. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 BACKGROUND: The Board of Adjustment hears, reviews, decides appeals, and reviews any <br /> 14 order requirement, decision, or determination made by the Zoning Officer in the performance of <br /> 15 official duties. It also hears and decides applications for the approval of those Special Uses <br /> 16 requiring Board of Adjustment approval, in accordance with the rules and conditions detailed in <br /> 17 the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), hears and decides appeals for variances from the <br /> 18 dimensional regulations of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), and decides or determines <br /> 19 other matters as may be required by the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) or State law. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 The Board of County Commissioners appoints all seven (7) members. She said there had been questions about a potential <br /> 30 conflict of interest for one of the recommended applicants who also serves on the Planning Board, <br /> 31 Adam Beeman. She said that the County Attorney sent information to the Board regarding the <br /> 32 question. Tara May said that it is her understanding that there is not a conflict of interest, despite <br /> 33 how it may appear. <br /> 34 The Board agreed by consensus to appoint Nathan Robinson and Greg Niemiroski to the <br /> 35 Board of Adjustment. <br />
