We <br />know that project costs are being updated per the approved study and both segments are submitted in SPOT 7 <br />for possible funding. Update: VHB competed the study to determine the long term vision through 2045 to <br />include surrrounding areas. The study considered traffic congestion and daily level of traiffic, access to goods, <br />services and residences.Along with multimodal network facilites, econonmic, evironmental and <br />considerations for all modes of travels. NCDOT updatd the Complete Street process using the Project Delivery <br />Network (PDN) All projects go through a complete assesmment. Policy change dictates consideration of <br />multimodal elements will begin at the inception of the transportation planning process and the decisions <br />made will be documented. <br />Part of US 70 Multimodal Corridor Study; updated: completed the information presentation for towns involved. <br />Update: the study was completed VHB, the purpose is develop long term vision for the communities and <br />surrounding natural areas. Designate a transit emphasis with specific transit improvents, providing <br />recommendations for bike lanes, sidewalks, and transit acess. Reduce speed and accept widening as an <br />unavoidable future for corridor east of Mebane.
