7 <br /> 15.The County has identified that it will receive $400,000 in addition interest income, due to a <br /> higher interest rate environment. It is proposed that the County use $250,000 of these <br /> funds to offset increased utility expenses in the Asset Management Services Department, <br /> $100,000 to offset the increased costs of juvenile jail stays, and $50,000 to provide a <br /> backstop to the Inspection Fund, due to slowing permitting activity. This action increases <br /> the authorization in the General Fund by $400,000 and the Inspection Fund by $50,000. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br /> associated with this item. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There are no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impacts associated with these items other than as noted otherwise above. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are included in the background information above. This <br /> budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds in FY 2023-24 and increases <br /> the authorization in the General Fund by $631,460, the Multi-Year Grant Fund by $61,030, the <br /> Inspection Fund by $50,000, the County Capital Fund by $250,000, the Annual Grants Fund by <br /> $17,364, and the Drug Forfeiture Fund by $703,316. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the budget, grant, and <br /> capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year 2023-24. <br />
