5 <br /> Health Department <br /> 11.The Orange County Health Department receives Maximization funds from the North <br /> Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Benefits and the <br /> Prepaid Health Plans, related to Medicaid Cost Settlement reports and the Medicaid <br /> Transformation Quarterly Directed Payments. Local Health Departments submit an annual <br /> Medicaid Cost Settlement report to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human <br /> Services to reconcile the State portion of the amount of Medicaid reimbursement owed to <br /> each Health Department for the cost of providing medical and dental services to Medicaid <br /> recipients. Medicaid Cost Settlement payments, as one time payments, are budgeted <br /> toward capital improvements like renovations of Health Department facilities that serve <br /> Medicaid eligible patients. An additional $426,632 of Medicaid Maximization funding will be <br /> recognized, offset by a corresponding decrease in General Fund fund balance <br /> appropriation. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Drug Forfeiture Fund <br /> 12.The Sheriff's Office has received notice of additional revenue from Asset Forfeiture. The <br /> Office has received $661,561 in additional Federal Forfeiture Funds, $11,284 in State <br /> Forfeiture Funds and $30,471 in additional interest income.
