As a member of the community <br /> who has worked with birth to preK at risks students through Orange County Head Start and UNC <br /> Horizons child development center, I believe that I'm well acquainted with all demographics of <br /> our community. I have a degree in early childhood and I have a post Clara's certificate in <br /> leadership in early childhood learning. I've also served as an assistant director at UNC Horizons <br /> child development center. I know what it takes to run a small childhood center and I'm very <br /> aware of the regulations and requirements that schools face. I've worked with parents and <br /> community members to meet the various needs of the early childhood community including <br /> organizing family fun days at gateway in 2016/17. 1 have sat in meetings and can find ways to <br /> listen and communicate with almost everyone present. I have continuing education credentials <br /> as well as my BA and LITL certificate. I have worked with birth to 5 children for 22 years in our <br /> community. <br /> Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board <br /> I want the opportunity to be involved in my community. <br /> How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints? <br /> I don't know. I like to listen and hear everyone before deciding how our opinions are different I. 1 <br /> want to know where we're alike so we can begin there. However, I doubt there will be very many <br /> early childhood professionals on the committee. <br />
