P a g e 21 o f 25

• Offer information in different languages

The Town of Carrboro engage with a variety of knowledgeable
individuals and organizations to create a portable triptych panel
display for the center of the building, in addition to mutiple
educational plaques next to specific features including water
refill stations, bicycle racks, EV charging stations, stormwater
bioretention cells, etc. Anyone who visits the building to utilize
the various public services available will also have the
opportunity to learn about green building practices and see them
functioning in a public space. The 203 Project and the signage
will be publicly accessible to all residents and visitors of
Carrboro and can be utilized as an educational field trip venue
for students of all ages. It will also showcase the features of the
building that were decided from years of public input,
community planning efforts, and the Town’s dedication to
climate action.

35. How will you measure the
success of that engagement or
educational effort?
The Town will continue to solicit feedback on its
communications strategies. Staff plan to continue administering
a Community Climate Action Plan Survey on a biennial basis
and this would provide an opportunity to measure the success of
this engagement.
36. Please describe any other
aspect of your project that is
relevant to the amount, or
quality, or length of
engagement and/or education
that your project will produce.

The Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Resources Department
will use the building to host community presentations,
summer camp activities, and other programs/services. The
Orange County Southern Branch Library will host various
events for visitors of all ages including public service
presentations, book clubs, arts and crafts activities, and skill
development courses.

Criterion 7 - Time to Complete

37. How much time will your
project require to demonstrate
the positive impacts you
describe?

The Town Council has approved the project and a zoning permit
has been issued. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on May
5th 2022, and the project construction is beginning this August
2022 with expectations to be complete in 19-months.
