Would your proposed project
help you to take advantage of
funding from other sources
besides this grant in the
future?
Yes, the building has been designed to incorporate various
sustainable features, including but not limited to the solar
photovoltaic array and educational components which can
increase eligibility for other climate action related funding
sources. These features will be prominently displayed in a
highly-visible, central location, serving to effectively
demonstrate the Town and County’s robust commitments to
climate action. Completing the solar array with Orange County
Climate Action Grant assistance will provide assurance to future
funding sources of the benefits to supporting future renewable
energy projects in Carrboro.
As of Friday August 12th, when Congress passed the Inflation
Reduction Act, the proposed solar array will be eligible for a
30% Investment Tax Credit. The Town will continue to seek out
rebates and grant programs in the future to help offset the costs
of these sustainable features.

27.
