P a g e 11 o f 22

Collaborators and Partners

In some projects, collaborators and partners provide essential capacity and connections. If collaborators
or partners are an essential part of your project whether or not they are receiving grant funds, please
use this section to provide more details. If you are not working with collaborators or partners, please
feel free to write N/A in this section and move to the Social Justice and Racial Equity section.
13. Please describe one to three
key partnerships/collaborations
that add the most value to the
success of the proposed
project:
The Skills Development Center enhances the lives of adults with
developmental and intellectual disabilities. WCOM radio
broadcasts and distributes high-quality educational, cultural,
music, news, talk, or public affairs programs. The Orange
County Public Library provides a broad selection of print and
non-print materials; research databases; online services; and,
public access to computers and free Wi-Fi. They host diverse
programming to support literacy and learning at all stages of
life.

As a user focused community center, The 203 Project will
connect Town and County residents to resources, tools and each
other in the spirit of learning, making, and nurturing collective
values. By integrating vital public resources—the Carrboro
Recreation, Parks and Cultural Resources Department, the
Orange County Southern Branch Library, the Orange County
Skills Development Center, and WCOM—The 203 will host
traditional services as well as new collaborative programming.
New and enhanced programs will weave together learning with
leisure, personal growth with vital workforce readiness. This
purpose‐built facility will be an environmentally sustainable,
functionally resilient destination that is welcoming and
accessible to all.

The Town’s partners will not be receiving grant funding from
this source for the program.

Criterion 1 - Social Justice and Racial Equity

14. Who will directly
or indirectly
benefit from your
project? Please be
as specific as
possible on the
characteristics of
those who will
benefit including,
gender, race, age,
income level and
geographic
location.

The 203 Project is a combined effort that will offer a public facility to
provide opportunities for education, art, and community. This building will
be accessible to all individuals and will enhance the quality of life in
Carrboro. The project provides direct benefits to all who use the building
through its energy efficiency, reduced urban heat island effect, cooling,
stormwater management, pollinator habitat, and to the whole community for
its reduced energy costs and its environmental benefits..

The green roof will provide direct benefits by insulating the building,
lowering the energy needed to provide cooling and heating and leading to a
reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The vegetation will also sequester
carbon and improve air quality by removing air pollutants. It will enhance
stormwater management and water quality by filtering pollutants from
DocuSign Envelope ID: 08DD74BE-CE96-4D90-9C72-8BD18C25E2E7
