Each Bid Unit Price includes an amount considered by Bidder to be adequate to cover <br /> Contractor's overhead and profit for each separately identified item. <br /> 2. Estimated quantities are not guaranteed and are solely for the purpose of comparison of Bids, <br /> and final payment for all Unit Price Work will be based on actual quantities, determined as <br /> provided in the Contract Documents. <br /> 3. Items not specifically identified as a unit line item, but necessary to complete the project as <br /> shown on the plans and in the technical specifications shall be included in the cost of one of the <br /> line items above. Contractor shall determine which line item to include the additional costs <br /> based on related items or the sequencing of tasks. <br /> 3.02 Unit Cost Schedule Measurement and Basis for Payment <br /> A. The line items below provide further description of the unit cost items included in the project bid price <br /> and shall be used as a means of determining the value of Work added to or deleted from the Contract. <br /> The Unit Cost generally outlines each item and the corresponding unit price listed by the Contractor.The <br /> price associated with each item shall be the full compensation paid for the Work described, regardless <br /> of the items.The description of the item shall not limit or lessen the work associated with each item as <br /> called for in the plans and specifications. <br /> B. The Contractor shall provide quantity justification with pay requests for items paid on a unit rate basis. <br /> Quantities for unit price bid items shall be calculated based on the measurement.The Engineer reserves <br /> the right to make final decision regarding those quantities. <br /> 3.03 Unit Cost Items <br /> A. MOBILIZATION AND BONDS-This work shall consist of furnishing all necessary insurance, coinsurance, <br /> reinsurance, payment/performance bonds, local permits (including payment of permit fees), <br /> mobilization of equipment,forces, and personnel for the project. Work shall also consist of furnishing all <br /> necessary demobilization of equipment,forces, and personnel for the project.This line item shall be a <br /> maximum of 3%of the base bid price. Payment for this line item will be made under a one-time charge <br /> and will constitute full compensation for all labor, equipment,tools, and other items necessary and <br /> incidental to the completion of this work. Work under this line item will include coordination with and <br /> assisting the Engineer with execution and implementation of the CQA plan included in the project <br /> documents. <br /> B. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL-This Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, material, equipment, <br /> tools, and other items necessary and incidental to install and implement the Erosion and Sediment <br /> Control plan included in the Contract and Technical Specifications. This item includes maintaining the <br /> Erosion and Sediment Controls throughout the project until the site has been released by the Engineer <br /> and NCDEQ. Payment for this line item will be made under a one-time charge and will constitute full <br /> compensation for all labor, equipment, tools, and other items necessary and incidental to the <br /> completion of this work. <br /> C. GRADING -This Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, material, equipment,tools, and other items <br /> necessary and incidental to perform grading as dictated by the Contract, including quantity verification, <br /> project record documents, and stakeout. Work shall include installing and protecting any necessary <br /> benchmarks.
