rALOrange County Agricultural Preservation Board 3 <br /> May 16th, 2024 <br /> Jamezetta Bedford, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br /> PO Box 8181 <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Re: Agricultural Preservation Board Appointment Recommendations <br /> Dear Chair Bedford: <br /> The Orange County Agricultural Preservation Board (APB) discussed recommendations to fill <br /> vacant positions at its regular meeting on May 15th, 2024. The APB asks the Board of <br /> Commissioners to consider the following appointment recommendations: <br /> Reappointments of three at-large members to new three-year terms. All will reach the end of <br /> their terms on June 30, 2024, and all wish to continue to serve: <br /> Anjail Taylor to a second term in position 8. <br /> Elizabeth Hooten to a second term in position 11 <br /> Manley Palmer to a first full term in position 12 <br /> Move current at-large members into vacant district positions: <br /> Move Noah Rannels to the High Rock/Efland district position (position 1), which will be <br /> vacated by Howard McAdams who will rotate off on June 30, 2024 after two full terms <br /> (Mr. Rannels owns a farm in the VAD program in the High Rock/Efland district, so is <br /> qualified for this slot). <br /> Move Michael Hughes from position 15 to the vacant White Cross district position <br /> (position 7) (Mr. Hughes owns a farm in the VAD program in the White Cross district, so <br /> is qualified for this slot) <br /> Appointment of new applicants: <br /> Mary Beth Miller to fill at-large position 9 being vacated by the move of Noah Rannels <br /> William Totten to fill the vacant Schley/Eno district position (position 5 -- Mr. Totten <br /> owns a farm in the VAD program in the Schley/Eno district, so is qualified for this slot) <br /> Thank you on behalf of the APB.
