I was active in 4-H from 9-19 <br /> and am a Virginia State 4-H All-Star. I graduated from Davidson College in 1984 and went <br /> on to complete a masters in public health from the Gillings School of Global Public Health <br /> at UNC-Chapel Hill and a doctorate in public health policy from The Bloomberg School of <br /> Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. I have held academic and public service <br /> positions in public health over the course of my career. I have served as a deacon and an <br /> elder at First Presbyterian Church in Burlington and continue to serve both the local <br /> church and Salem Presbytery in various ways (social justice, clergy and church health, <br /> etc.).
