The Commission will celebrate Fair <br />Housing Month by conducting the following activities: <br />- The Department of Human Rights and Relations in collaboration with seven other Fair <br />Housing Agencies will participate in the Statewide Fair Housing Media Advocacy <br />Campaign by airing locally produced shows; Nuestro Barrio and The Other Side <br />throughout the month of April on our local cable access channel and on the People's <br />Channel. Airdates and viewing times for "The Other Side" are Thursdays April 8, 15, 22 <br />and 29th at 10:30p.m. Airdates and viewing times for "Nuestro Barrio" are Sundays April <br />4th, 11th, 18th and 25th at 6:OOp.m. <br />- The Department will also be providing Fair Housing Trainings and Workshops throughout <br />the month of April. Two of these trainings will be held at EI Centro Latino and two in <br />Northern Orange County. These trainings will be the beginning of the Department's <br />larger effort to inform Orange County residents of their civil rights through education and <br />outreach. <br />- The Department of Human Rights and Relations in collaboration with the Department of <br />Housing and Community Development will kickoff the planning process for the 2005 <br />Orange County Housing Fair which will include representatives from all sectors of the <br />community who provide housing or housing related services.. <br />FINANCIAt_ IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board adopt the proposed <br />proclamation and authorize the Chair to sign it. <br />
