Orange County has <br /> approximately 58,500 real property parcels, and 1,002 delineated neighborhoods. <br /> To assist with the review and revaluation of commercial properties, the Tax Office has contracted <br /> with Analytical Consultants. The schedule for commercial properties is currently on track, with all <br /> sections of Phase I having been completed. <br /> The effective appraisal date for the 2025 revaluation is January 1, 2025. Revaluation Notices are <br /> scheduled to be mailed in February or March 2025. Appeals Forms will be included with the <br /> notices. The Tax Office has recently reviewed and developed an updated Appeals Form and <br /> Instruction Sheet, with the emphasis on simplifying completion of the form. <br /> The Tax Office is currently working on the 2025 Appraisal Manual, which includes information on <br /> appraisal and data collections procedures, and is required by the N.C. Department of Revenue. <br /> In addition, staff is working to complete the 2025 Schedule of Values. The Schedule of Values will <br /> be presented to the Board of Commissioners in Fall 2024, and a Public Hearing will also be set <br /> at that time.
