Worked in food for a decade, supporting equity and sustainability. <br /> Brings experience in grant management to support County and residents. <br /> Blake: Budget issues in Orange County, compounded by the Medicaid reimbursements, has caused a <br /> massive budget shortfall.This has had consequences for two positions in the Housing Department: <br /> Alma's position and the EHA administrator position will no longer exist. We have 3 to 4 more months of <br /> being able to provide EHA, eviction diversion funds, and then we will need to transition the program to <br /> something else that will serve County residents. <br /> The balance between sales tax and increased Medicaid expenses, has resulted in $3 million fewer than <br /> expected.The bigger counties are suffering from as much as a $15 million shortfall. <br /> Kyle describes CASA project that cost$8 million <br /> IV. Update from Housing Advisory Board (5 minutes) <br /> Blake provides an Orange County Housing Authority Board update: 1) Scheduled to have a public <br /> hearing to change our governing documents—approving the PHA plan.
