Year-to-Date Budget Kirk Vaughn, (919) 245-2153 <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year <br /> 2023-24. <br /> Opioid Settlement Fund <br /> 1. In July 2021, a bipartisan coalition of state attorneys general announced the National <br /> Opioid Settlement — a historic $26 billion agreement that is bringing desperately needed <br /> help to communities harmed by the opioid epidemic. This amendment recognizes <br /> $1,410,970 in new revenue for the Opioid Settlement Fund. These funds will be utilized to <br /> address opioid abuse to create a safe community and ensure a community network of <br /> basic human services and infrastructure that maintains, protects and promotes the well- <br /> being of all residents in Orange County.
