Orange County has <br /> 2 approximately 58,500 real property parcels, and 1,002 delineated neighborhoods. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 To assist with the review and revaluation of commercial properties, the Tax Office has contracted <br /> 5 with Analytical Consultants. The schedule for commercial properties is currently on track, with all <br /> 6 sections of Phase I having been completed. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 The effective appraisal date for the 2025 revaluation is January 1, 2025. Revaluation Notices are <br /> 9 scheduled to be mailed in February or March 2025. Appeals Forms will be included with the <br /> 10 notices. The Tax Office has recently reviewed and developed an updated Appeals Form and <br /> 11 Instruction Sheet, with the emphasis on simplifying completion of the form. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 The Tax Office is currently working on the 2025 Appraisal Manual, which includes information on <br /> 14 appraisal and data collections procedures, and is required by the N.C. Department of Revenue. <br /> 15 In addition, staff is working to complete the 2025 Schedule of Values. The Schedule of Values will <br /> 16 be presented to the Board of Commissioners in Fall 2024, and a Public Hearing will also be set <br /> 17 at that time.
